Velenje, Ljubljana, August 19, 2015 – Gorenje, d.d., and Gorenje Surovina, d.o.o., signed with the company HIS gradbeništvo in inženiring d.o.o., which holds a 49-percent stake in the company Publicus, d.o.o., an agreement to divest their majority shareholding in their subsidiary Publicus, d.o.o., Ljubljana, complete with the subsidiary Ekogor, d.o.o., Jesenice.

Our company, in cooperation with the University of Maribor, re-hosted an international group of students in the context of their Summer School entitled What is waste and what to do with it? Based on their research, students from Finland, Iceland, Russia and the Czech Republic will conclude the Summer School by presenting their solution.
Gorenje Surovina d.o.o., in collaboration with the University of Maribor (UM), has successfully completed its environmental protection project called "RRPO 2013: Building a pilot reactor for drying and disinfecting of urban and/or industrial sludge from purification plants". The project consisted of developing a technologically and economically efficient device for drying of non-hazardous sludge. The project offers a promising solution to an increasing problem in terms of environmental protection because of the potential use of such technology in industry.

On Tuesday, 2 September, our company, in cooperation with the University of Mariborand in the context of their Summer School hosted an international group of students. The purpose of the project entitled „What is waste and what to do with it?“ is to learn about the process of creating solutions on the basis of a problem in interdisciplinary teams.
On Sunday, 21 July 2013, at about 1 p. m., a big fire broke out at the Gorenje Surovina location for waste collection and processing in Maribor. Firemen brought the fire under control not till the late night hours on Monday, 22 July. Extinguishing of individual smouldering spots on the landfill proceeded also in the next few days. We set up fireguards on the location to prevent waste from resurgence of ignition, too.
On 13th April 2011, we celebrated 60th anniversary of Gorenje Surovina at Narodni dom of Maribor (National Home of Maribor). The event was attended by a large number of well-known businessmen and businesswomen, politicians, business partners, and employees. We are pleased to inform you that the Gorenje Surovina opened a new plant for producing solid fuel from waste. The plant is located at the industrial zone of Tezno Maribor.
